Angela & Joe’s engagement session included all of my favorite things, all brought together on one perfect evening:
A wonderful, loving couple: check
Puppies: check!
A champagne toast: you bet
And as a bonus? Cows!
You see, Angela & Joe live in Tonganoxie, Kansas, on their family’s cattle ranch. When we first met to discuss their wedding and engagement photos, they asked if it’d be okay if we captured their engagement session on the ranch. Anytime a couple has such a personal request, I jump at the idea! What better place than your home to celebrate such a milestone? I like to think that certain spots we visited during their session will now be filled with the memories of last night’s magical session.
I arrived early to Angela & Joe’s home so I could have a chance to look around the property. While Angela finished getting pampered before the session, Joe kindly took me around the property on their UTV. Every turn we took made my smile wider! There were so many breathtaking spots where we could photograph – almost too many too choose from! (Which is the best problem to have, btw.)
We began Angela & Joe’s session down near their pond. Their property is basically one giant, gently sloping hill. This worked perfectly because it meant we could start their session on the lower part of the hill and stay protected from the sun while it was still bright and harsh. As the sun set, we moved further up the hill until our grand finale at the very top. And WOW the views up there are breathtaking! I know I’m a city girl at heart, but I sure could get used to looking at those wide open vistas every day 🙂
Angela & Joe were an absolute dream to photograph. I could tell they were naturals from the very first click of my camera. Angela is simply stunning as you can see, and Joe’s love for her shines through every smile and embrace he gives her. They are such a perfect pair. I’m so glad I only have to wait until May for their wedding day and to get them in front of my camera again!
CHEERS TO ANGELA & JOE!
Can’t get enough of these two lovebirds? Check out their wedding day!
