I love capturing real, raw, radiant moments for the brightest of souls with the biggest of love. Learn more...
Ah, Lexi & Chris 🙂 These two peas in a pod are simply perfection and so much fun to be around. They’re kind, sweet, genuine, and so loving. Their relationship is built on a strong foundation that goes all the way back to middle school! But it wasn’t until college when they decided to date. Since then they’ve planned one wedding, had it postponed, and planned an intimate wedding ceremony that took place this May.
So yes! Lexi & Chris are married! So why did they get all dressed up to spend a Sunday evening exploring Kansas City with me? Because I will have the pleasure of photographing their second wedding celebration next spring!
When we first chatted about me joining next year’s celebration, I offered to remove the engagement session from my wedding services, but Lexi & Chris declined. They wanted the chance to work with me before their wedding, and I couldn’t be more pleased! I mean LOOK at the fun we had last night!
But you know what’s crazy? When the three of us met up last night for their engagement session it dawned on me that we’ve never actually met in person! I’ve known Lexi almost exclusively through social media for almost two years and we’ve NEVER met in person! (But one time during the height of the pandemic Lexi did pick up a plant from my doorstep and left me the sweetest little notebook in exchange. So she’s been to my home …but we’d never met.)
But you’d never know it from last night. From the second we met up downtown I felt like I’d known these two forever, which made this portrait session all the more fun! Lexi & Chris were down for anything I suggested (including last-minute location changes that were SOOOO worth it)! And Chris was such a trooper to go through an entire “engagement” session again. But when your wife is a smoke show like Lexi, I mean, who wouldn’t want an excuse to get dressed up and hold her close for the evening!
We began the evening exploring downtown Kansas City. Lexi shares my love for classic old architecture, and I was so excited to get to photograph in this area of KC for the first time with them. Lexi & Chris were dressed perfectly for the backdrop, wouldn’t you agree?
Our second stop was the ever-beautiful Shawnee Mission Park! This time of year it is simply stunning full of lush greenery! We arrived at the perfect time to capture the sunset among the treetops!
CHEERS TO LEXI & CHRIS!
You two make marriage look so easy 🙂 Check out their wedding day!
