I love capturing real, raw, radiant moments for the brightest of souls with the biggest of love. Learn more...
Guys. I cannot stop thinking about Kimber & Michael’s wedding day! I love that these two stayed true to themselves and dreamed up a celebration truly unique to them.
Okay, where to begin?
Kimber & Michael spent the morning apart getting ready with their respective wedding parties. Kimber got ready at her parent’s home, which is a decision I always find to be so heartwarmingly personal. After their first look, Kimber & Michael captured portraits with their crew outside of Kimber’s parents’ house. I love that Kimber and her family will always have such once-in-a-lifetime moments tied with their family home.
Kimber & Michael opted for an intimate wedding ceremony that included only their closest family and dearest friends. The ceremony was held in Kimber’s parents’ backyard, which made it all the more personal and special. All along the way, Kimber & Michael dreamed up special touches to make their ceremony guests feel extra welcome. A three-piece band greeted guests and guided them to the backyard. There they were met with the most stunningly vibrant colors Custom fans kept guests cool on a warm summer day. And if that didn’t work, their ice cold drinks from the wet bar did!
After the ceremony, Kimber & Michael and their wedding party traveled to the Nelson-Atkins Museum for additional portraits before making their way to their reception at The Bardot. There the rest of their wedding guests welcomed them to the party of the summer! Kimber’s colorful vision for her day transformed The Bardot into its own garden party celebration. After a delicious dinner, Lost Wax band kept the dance floor packed (even though it was a hot night in Kansas City)! And the party didn’t stop there. After the reception, Kimber & Michael invited their guests downstairs into The Bardot’s speakeasy basement for a disco-themed after party.
Documenting unique wedding days like Kimber & Michael’s is extra fun for me. Their personalities and priorities for the day showed through every detail and decision, and it was such a joy to capture this story for them. Cheers to Kimber & Michael!
