I’m still reliving these images from Kellyanne & Kevin’s proposal! I was beyond thrilled when Kellyanne’s sister Karleigh contacted me to capture this unforgettable milestone. The entire surprise went off without a single hitch.

Karleigh asked me to photograph the proposal as a gift to the happy couple. (How sweet is that?) Our plan was to hide near the south lawn of the WWI Memorial and wait for Kellyanne & Kevin to walk up with their pup. Kevin really liked the idea of having the skyline in the background of their proposal pictures and I couldn’t agree more.

I’m told that Kellyanne & Kevin take frequent evening walks around this area (Kellyanne & Karleigh live together in the Crossroads) so Kellyanne wouldn’t suspect anything. As they neared the top of the hill, Kevin got down on one knee and asked Kellyanne for forever. Needless to say, she said yes!

Karleigh had been hiding near me with her boyfriend Alex. Moments after Kevin popped the question Karleigh rushed down to congratulate her sister.

Karleigh came extra prepared with a Bluetooth speaker and champagne to amplify the celebration!

I first met Kellyanne’s family during an early morning family portrait session at Shawnee Mission Park. That session was waaaay back in 2017, and this family’s bond for each other has stuck with me ever since. They’re just one of those magnetic families, you know?
