I love capturing real, raw, radiant moments for the brightest of souls with the biggest of love. Learn more...
This winter has certainly been one for the books. Snow at Thanksgiving? Highs in the 60s? Sleet?? Blizzards? The Chiefs almost making it to the Super Bowl? Another Polar Vortex?? And it’s on just February!
Most consider winter to be a “flyover” season. Just curl up and wait until spring. But winter has its own subtle beauty and quiet grace. Winter weddings are warm, romantic, and often quite intimate. You can’t help but hold each other a little closer when temperatures dip below freezing!
As the temperatures began to sink and the leaves began to fall, our stellar team, led by Fiore Events (see full team list at the bottom of this post), leaned into winter’s chilly charm and brought to life a stunning wintry themed wedding featuring purples and blues at their deepest gem tones to their most delicate pastels. The effect created a beautiful balance between winter’s icy temperatures and the warmth created inside during these cold months.
Webster House created the perfect backdrop for this theme. This Romanesque ex-schoolhouse still has its original dark wood finishes and quirky stained glass windows, which help warm the space on a cold wintry day.
As our bride & groom, Brittney & Drew, prepared for their first look, the rest of our amazing team was upstairs transforming Webster House’s entire restaurant space into the couple’s cozy, vintage-but-modern reception space. Fiore Floral’s effortless mix of textures and colors perfectly accented with the mixed metallics adorning every room’s table scapes, furnished by Ultrapom.
As we stepped outside for Brittney & Drew’s portraits, the couple was perfectly prepared for the wintry weather thanks to Alaskan Fur. (We were all drooling over Brittney’s stunning fur wrap). Mother Nature even put on her best by treating us to one of the most spectacular sunsets I’ve ever seen in Kansas City!
Below are just a few of my absolute favorite photos from this beautiful day. Tell me your favorites in the comments below!
