This is the story of an outdoorsy girl from Mission Hills and an outdoorsy boy from Cleveland. Generational ties brought both Caroline & Riley to KU, where their social circles intertwined. At first they were mutual friends, then next door neighbors, and eventually after graduation, they were dating. As Riley’s dad said during his toast on Saturday, wishes aren’t granted by genies in the Deeter family. They’re granted by Coleman lanterns. And that homage to the humble camping lantern about sums up what brought Caroline & Riley together.
It’s no surprise that their outdoorsy adventurous spirits gravitated together on the KU campus. Together they’ve built a robust social circle, they spend more time outdoors than ever, they’re raising a pup named Birdie (if that isn’t a hint at where their hobbies lie). Their lives are one big adventure! Case in point? Their honeymoon will be spent traveling across Asia. I mean, how freaking cool is that?!
True to form, Caroline & Riley found ways to infuse personal touches into their wedding day. They kept it colorful and fun with unique flowers and vibrantly patterned linens. They kicked off wedding party photos with a group first look and champagne toast. Riley included a nod to his Maryland heritage with an oyster bar at cocktail hour. Their ceremony and dance floor were both outside under the most perfect blue spring sky.
Caroline & Riley’s wedding felt like the perfect blend of their two upbringings, while also giving us a tease of the adventurous lives they’ll share together. I can’t wait to see what life brings them next!
A HUGE thank you to the team that made this day spectacular!
