To give you an idea of how effortlessly fun Caitlin & Adam’s beautiful spring Hawthorne House wedding day was, look no further than their vibrant color palette! Stephanie with Pretty + Planned and the entire Hawthorne House team kept the entire day running smoothly so Caitlin & Adam and their guests could enjoy an elegant day outdoors soaking in some of spring’s warm sunshine and early blooms. Hawthorne House is my favorite Kansas City wedding venue any time of year, especially in spring! Their stunning estate venue is the perfect backdrop to capture a variety of moments and portraits. And there are so many beautiful spots hidden throughout the property where you can create stunning portraits!
Caitlin & Adam began their days getting ready with their respective wedding parties. I didn’t get a chance to see the groomsmen’s getting ready attire, but I doubt it was half as cute as the bridesmaids’ adorable floral pajamas! (I’m hoping to snag a set of them for myself!)
After Caitlin & Adam got dressed, we took them outside onto a secluded section of the porch so they could enjoy their first look in privacy. We then explored a few spots along Hawthorne House’s property to capture portraits. First, we used the porch, then the House’s stunning facade, and then the quaint little bridge that links the main ballroom to Hawthorne House’s chapel.
Before the ceremony we also captured wedding party group photos and family formal portraits. I love when we get to capture family formal portraits outdoors! The lighting is so much more flattering, and the setting feels so much more natural for family photos.
Caitlin & Adam’s ceremony took place at Hawthorne House’s gazebo, which was adorned with more stunning colorful flowers. And, since family formal portraits had already been captured, Caitlin & Adam and their families were able to enjoy their cocktail hour after we captured a few newlywed portraits in the beautiful golden hour light!
The ballroom was transformed with even more colorful blooms! I seriously couldn’t get enough of this color palette! Caitlin & Adam entered to a champagne tower (!) to toast their guests. And after a delicious dinner, they danced the night away to their live band!
A HUGE thank you to the team that made this day exceptional!
