This Saturday, August 22, Brianna & Michael tied the knot!
From the classic backdrop of Indian Hills Country Club, to the beautiful florals, to Bri’s iconic gown, their wedding celebration was every bit as elegant and fun as these two lovebirds.
Like so many of 2020’s couples, the months – heck the weeks! – leading up to Bri & Michael’s wedding day were an absolute roller coaster of roundabouts, pivots, and changed plans. But what is so very impressive about these two is how poised and positive they both stayed through it all. It’s a testament to the support system that surrounds them, and that they’ve built together.
Bri & Michael both come from very loyal families. Their guest list alone proves it: the majority of Michael’s groomsmen were college fraternity brothers. The bridesmaids that weren’t siblings were Bri’s longtime dance friends. And Bri’s father’s own best man from her parents’ wedding was in attendance. It’s clear that these two families value love and connections above all else. Is there really any better foundation for a beautiful marriage?
Bri began her wedding day morning getting ready at her parents’ home. I love when brides are able to get ready in their family homes! To me, it helps ground the purpose of the day early on.
Bri’s bridesmaid Sarah did her makeup!
This mirror sits in Bri’s parents’ entryway. Bri’s mom told me they use it for final touches before the two of them go out. How perfect that Bri used it for her own final look before heading out to see her soon-to-be-husband!
Bri & Michael finally got to see each other for the first time at Indian Hills. After a teary first look, we explored the property’s gorgeous golf course to capture their portraits.
I wish I could bottle up Bri’s chill and share it with any couple needing an extra boost right now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This might be my very favorite portrait from Saturday’s celebration. As plans continued to change mere weeks before their wedding day, time and again Bri said to me “No matter what the day looks like, we just want to be married. We’re ready.” These two walked a crazy path together to the altar, and it was so worth it 🙂
I loved this combination of elegant blue gowns with charcoal gray suits. Bri & Michael’s wedding party was a dapper crew!
Of course we had to steal a few moments for photos with Bri’s dance friends! This crew have been through so many ups and downs together, but today was all about celebrating!
Bri & Michael’s wedding ceremony was at the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood. True to their families’ values, the entrance to the church was decorated with the wedding photos of Bri & Michael’s parents and grandparents. I love this visual reminder of the legacy these two were continuing on their wedding day.
While the newlyweds were away, a team of helpers transformed Indian Hills’s ballroom into the most beautiful reception space!
I always wonder what couples discuss during their first dance together. (Yes, many of them appear to be talking to each other while they sway to the music!) I can imagine Bri & Michael both acting simply relieved (and excited!) to be here in this moment together as husband and wife.
Masks may have been required on the dance floor, but that didn’t stop these guests from having a good time! The patio was mask-free when breaks were needed.
Your wedding day was pure bliss, and the perfect start to your lifetime together!
A HUGE thank you to the team that made this day so special!
