I know. I know.

I say it all the time.

I’m a natural light photographer. Nothing beats natural, outdoor light.

But what if I’m wrong??

What if perfectly placed studio light can be just as beautiful? Especially when you’ve got the most stunning floral design, gowns, and models basking in that light??

Maybe there’s room in my heart for studio light too.

These images are just the tip of the inspiration iceberg captured on a studio play day with some of my absolute favorite creative pros in the city. Mimi’s Couture Bridal curated an exceptional collection of designer wedding gowns for our models. Our star pieces were Savin London‘s hand painted gown and Monique Lhuillier‘s stunning ballgown. (If Monique’s gown had existed when I got married, I guarantee you it would have been my gown!) Heart + Soul Floral created a beautiful floral installation with endless options and angles. Anne-Marie Designs put the finishing touches on our bridal looks with her stunning handmade jewelry pieces. And Ashley & Hillary kept our models Kylah & Megan looking fresh-faced and flawless all day long.

Our goal for that day was to fill our creative cups up before busy season took hold. My personal goal was to treat each luxurious gown like an accessory and show off their most unique details. And, because we were working on one studio set, I wanted to challenge myself to maximize the scene and make it look different in each shot.

I am absolutely in love with the images we created, but I’m even more grateful for the laughs shared and memories made among that day’s team.
