On Sunday, Grace & James finally got to complete their engagement session! Normally, engagement sessions aren’t split into two days, let alone two seasons! But for Grace & James I was happy to make an exception.
What’s fun about Grace & James’s engagement is that we visited Kauffman Center in both seasons! I love getting to compare the snowy wintry images to their spring counterparts. Exact same place, wildly different look! Ready to see them?
winter 2021
The first half of their session was on Valentine’s Day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Romantic? Yes :)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Freezing? Literally.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We all lasted about 20 minutes outside before we couldn’t take the 13° temperatures anymore! Unable to photograph indoors (thanks, COVID) we opted to reschedule to a warmer date in April. But boy did we get our money’s worth in those 20 minutes! Grace & James were true troopers powering through the freezing temperatures. In between photos they threw on coats while I stuffed my fingers into giant snowboarding mittens (I can’t use my camera with gloves on). Through it all, these two kept the hugs tight and the smiles coming!
spring 2021
Fast forward two months to April for Grace & James’s engagement session part 2! Guys, the weather was literally 60 degrees warmer than their first session in February! It’s amazing what a few months, some rainy days, and a bunch of blooming trees can do to transform a space 🙂
Since we were feeling soooo comfortable in spring’s lovely temperatures, we even made a second stop at the WWI Memorial for a few sunset portraits! I just love how the evening glow lights this space up!
Cheers to Grace & James! I’m so very excited to celebrate your wedding this September!!
Can’t get enough of Grace & James? Check out their wedding day!!
