Last week I got to spend an incredible evening celebrating Kaitlyn & Connor’s engagement! The road leading to this moment was long and winding, and quite honestly may have never happened. Let me tell you more:

These two lovebirds actually met in California many years ago. Connor had just been sent there for work (he’s originally from KC) and the very first week he was in California he and Kaitlyn matched on Bumble.

If you spend any time around these two, you’re not at all surprised that their first date was a huge success. Both Kaitlyn & Connor are genuinely friendly, welcoming people that find so much joy in life and in each other. Since moving back to Kansas City, they’ve taken on homeownership, puppy parenting, and more travel adventures than can be counted.

Their wedding day next spring is going to be so very special surrounded by their closest friends and family. I can’t wait!

loose park

Our first stop at their engagement session was Loose Park. This park is a meaningful spot for Kaitlyn & Connor because it’s where they got engaged!

Connor originally planned to propose on a trip to Hawaii back in April, but COVID had other plans. Making lemonade out of lemons, Connor chose a quiet afternoon to pop the question.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Kaitlyn & Connor used to live near the Plaza. One quiet afternoon, while these two enjoyed a relaxing picnic in Loose Park, Connor asked Kaitlyn for forever. While this gesture wasn’t as grand as a Hawaii proposal would have been, I feel like there’s something so much more meaningful about proposing in everyday moments like this. To me, it says, “I love you. I love this life we have. I want to share it with you forever.”

Our second stop was the Country Club Plaza. This area of Kansas City is near and dear to Kaitlyn & Connor because they lived nearby when they first moved back to Kansas City. It’s where their lives together in KC first began.
