Meet Holly & Tony, two lovebirds that made planned an intimate backyard wedding before it was cool 😉 Their wedding day was a perfect extension of their low-key lifestyle. After all, they got engaged in the most Holly & Tony way: while relaxing together on New Years Day afternoon!
For their wedding, Holly & Tony opted for a small affair in Holly’s mother’s gorgeous Prairie Village backyard. The day was the perfect representation of what these two hold most dear: their friends and family. Throughout our planning meetings, Holly often told me how important it was to her that she be able to spend quality time with each guest that made the trip (often from hundreds of miles away!) to celebrate their wedding day.
The couple had no wedding party; instead Holly spent the morning getting ready with her mom and sister while Tony hosted out-of-town friends at a local BBQ restaurant. And Holly’s stepfather played an extra meaningful role of their officiant. After the ceremony, Holly & Tony enjoyed their much-desired quality time with everyone over cocktails in the garden before heading to Rye KC on the Plaza for a delicious dinner reception.
A huge thank you to the team that made this day wonderful! Even the simplest weddings can take a village 🙂

Holly opted for a peach, purple, and blue color palette – the perfect spring garden combination.
Holly got ready in her childhood home alongside her sister and mother.
Tony slipped snuck into an upstairs bedroom after his BBQ lunch to get dressed without seeing Holly.
Holly’s mother’s backyard is truly garden goals and we wanted to take advantage of the beautiful space for portraits!
Holly & Tony filled their intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends, some of whom they’ve known since middle school!
The garden’s pergola made the perfect backdrop for the ceremony, especially once Fiore Floral’s designs brought it to life.
The weather held off for Holly & Tony’s ceremony, and was simply perfect for the cocktail hour following the ceremony.
The bells atop Holly & Tony’s cake have topped every wedding cake in Holly’s family for generations!
Before heading to their reception dinner, Holly & Tony took a leisurely stroll through the Plaza to capture some newlywed portraits and share a few moments together just the two of them.
