This weekend, Katie & Jack finally celebrated a wedding day many years in the making! And what a beautiful day it was! Katie & Jack began and ended their day at the President Hotel in downtown Kansas City. Katie was inspired by the hotel’s historic 1920s style and dreamed up the most beautiful aesthetic that felt fresh, elegant, and effortless. Palm fronds adorned the space, orchids draped down centerpieces and bouquets, gold and mirrors gilded every table, and Katie herself looked like a picture-perfect Jazz Age bride. To say this girl’s style is flawless is an understatement :)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Katie & Jack waited until the altar for their first look. Their downtown Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception ceremony was made extra special by their college town priest residing over the wedding mass. His sermon was even tailored to Katie & Jack’s unique Jayhawk love story.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
After the ceremony, we headed to the Kauffman Center for wedding party and newlywed portraits. Then it was time to return to the President Hotel to party! The Galaxy Band kept the dance floor completely full all night long until Katie & Jack’s sparkler exit.⠀
Katie & Jack both have deep roots in Kansas City, and have known each other for years. Like true Kansas Citians, they’re loyal to their families and close friends. And it was easy to see these connections on their wedding day. Both Katie & Jack’s mothers spent the morning getting ready with the bridesmaids, and they even joined in on the fun for a few portraits with them. Katie’s sister served as her bridesmaid, and I know they day was just as special for her as for Katie. Throughout the day the entire wedding party kept the energy high and the fun flowing. I can’t wait to show you more from this gorgeous day!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A HUGE thank you to the team that knocked this wedding day out of the park!

And can’t get enough of these two lovebirds? Check out their engagement session!
Katie was in love with her bouquet when it got delivered to the getting ready suite!
Katie & Jack wanted to wait until the altar for their first look, so we took separate bridesmaid and groomsmen portraits outside the hotel’s iconic facade before the ceremony. We had a few obstacles to overcome like parked cars and rain, but this crew kept things flexible and fun!
This is the first time Katie saw her dad all day! He was blown away. And did you notice Katie’s subtle overlay addition to her gown? I can’t even with this girl’s style!
And they’re MARRIED! Time for full wedding party and newlywed portraits outside the Kauffman Center!
The President Hotel has probably been a wedding venue for as long as it’s been open – since 1926! But I don’t think it’s seen reception decor quite like this. I just loved the subtle introduction of palms and fresh orchids to the space to bring it to a new level of elegance!
While guests were enjoying cocktail hour, Katie & Jack did something that couples rarely get to enjoy on their wedding day – seeing their completed reception space before anyone else! I love they got to share this moment before the evening really kicked off.
I mean, can you believe this decor?? The long tables were placed as X’s on each side of the dance floor to create even more visual interest.
Galaxey Red Band from St. Louis kept the dance floor PACKED all night long! At times it was a real challenge to move through the crowd to capture epic moments.
Katie & Jack’s unforgettable wedding day ended – how else? – with a sparkler sendoff!
