Cheers to Gretchen & Tyler!
Tuesday night was just the best night with these two high school sweethearts! And when I say HS sweethearts, I don’t mean they went to SM East or Pembroke together. No, Gretchen & Tyler met in Pennsylvania! Gretchen’s family moved there when she was an early teen. Through the hallowed halls of their high school, G&T connected and the rest was history. Together they attended the University of Missouri before moving to Kansas City and officially moving (back) to the midwest. And I’m so glad that they did so our paths could cross!
On Tuesday night, we explored two of Kansas City’s most iconic (and photogenic) spots for Gretchen & Tyler’s portraits. First stop: Loose Park’s stunning Rose Garden! The roses still look absolutely stunning, even after a harsh summer, and I enjoyed getting to show Gretchen & Tyler around such an historic area. Gretchen & Tyler’s outfits gave me early fall vibes; the most perfect hint to chilly temps and earlier sunsets on the horizon 🙂
Our second spot was the Nelson-Atkins Museum. For their final spot, Gretchen & Tyler donned dressier, airier attire that popped off the Nelson’s classical architecture backdrop. The sun was just dipping down below the treeline as the sculpture garden emptied out, which means we had the entire place practically to ourselves!
Gretchen asked me on Tuesday what was my favorite month to photograph in KC. Without skipping a beat I told her it was September. This time of year, the sunsets are longer (which means more beautiful portrait time!), the temperatures are a little lower, the trees still have their beautiful leafy foliage, and the anticipation for fall is just around the corner. What’s not to love?
Check out some of my favorite moments captured with Gretchen & Tyler. They’re total naturals in front of the camera!
CHEERS TO GRETCHEN & TYLER!
I can’t wait for your wedding this fall at Hotel Kansas City with Fiore Events!
