Yesterday, the clouds parted (a bit) and the sun came out to shine on Alex & Austin’s engagement session at the Nelson-Atkins Museum and on the Plaza! I just loved getting to spend a beautiful May evening with these two. They are just the kindest, sweetest couple!
When I first met Alex & Austin a few months ago, they told me a little about the early months of their relationship, and I just have to share the story here. These two lovebirds met in college and began dating their senior year. They were very involved students – both of them were members of many student groups and organizations. A few months into dating, Austin realized that they never saw each other because their schedules were so full. Thinking that their relationship wasn’t going anywhere, he tried to break things off with Alex. True to form, Alex was unwilling to hear such nonsense (she was on her way to a meeting!) and told Austin that they’d discuss this later. I don’t think they ever had that conversation again, and now Alex & Austin are getting married!!
Our first stop for Alex & Austin’s engagement session was the Nelson-Atkins Museum. This space is truly my favorite portrait spot in the city! I just love capturing moments with my couples here. After taking in the gorgeous sunshine in the sculpture garden, we headed to the Plaza.
Thankfully the Plaza was nice and empty on Monday evening. We were able to explore every corner of this iconic area! I especially loved getting to take Alex & Austin down to path along Brush Creek.
I had the best time exploring the Nelson and Plaza with you two, and I’m even more excited for your wedding day next April!!
