Alex & Austin’s wedding day this past Friday was a perfect intimate spring celebration at The Everly in Kansas City. The weather was in our favor, boasting warmer temperatures than in days prior. And every now and then, the sun would peek out from behind the passing clouds and bathe Alex & Austin and their wedding party in the most perfect sunlight during portrait time at the Kauffman Center!

Alex & Austin began their day getting ready separately. When it was time to see each other, they shared a double first look (both of their backs were turned to each other) to add to the surprise. These two lovebirds have been together for nearly a decade. So they’re certainly no strangers to each other, and Austin was pretty spot on with his guess of what Alex’s dress would look like. But their first look still felt special after all of these years together 🙂

After their first look, we headed to the Kauffman Center for wedding party and couple’s portraits. We had the entire place to ourselves, which made our time there all the more fun! I love that Alex & Austin kept their wedding party small, with only 2 attendants on each side. This meant I really got to know their crew and we all had even more fun exploring Kauffman’s grounds together.

After portraits we headed back the The Everly for Alex & Austin’s ceremony. The couple exchanged their own vows, and were surprised each time they overlapped! (Both Alex & Austin vowed to keep Alex hydrated on long shopping trips 😉 ) And after their ceremony Alex & Austin were able to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests before dinner and dancing!
