Lindsey & Josh at The Everly

fun wintry Kansas City wedding

At long last, after 10 years of dating and 3 years of engagement, Lindsey & Josh get to live #HappilyEverArpin !

Saturday’s celebration was truly a special day from beginning to end. Lindsey & Josh started the morning getting ready with their wedding parties – all of whom are dear college friends (and Lindsey’s bridesmaids are all sorority sisters!)

Lindsey & Josh’s first look was tearful and oh-so-special. After all, they’ve waited years for this day! Josh even surprised Lindsey by playing a song during the moment that is meaningful to them. After a few (chilly!) portraits on the rooftop of the Crossroads Hotel, we headed to the Kauffman Center and the WWI Memorial for wedding party and couples portraits. Did I mention that it was a chilly day? But for mid-December we really couldn’t complain! The sun was shining, the wind had died down, and Lindsey & Josh were getting to finally become husband and wife! What more could you ask for?

Lindsey & Josh’s ceremony at The Everly was full of meaningful little touches. Lindsey’s brother officiated the couple’s exchange of vows. And there was a special seat set aside for Josh’s recently departed father. (Josh also wore a special pin inside his jacket to honor his father, right next to his heart.)

While The Everly team expertly flipped the space from ceremony to reception, Lindsey & Josh headed outside for one final moment of celebrating with their wedding party. (Sparklers were involved!) And then it was time to get the party started! Guests were treated to a delicious Brancato’s dinner, followed by toasts and numerous special dances. Lindsey & Josh even surprised their friends with a dance of their own! They had gotten married during the height of the COVID pandemic and weren’t able to experience their first dance as a couple. So Lindsey & Josh made it happen during their own wedding reception. That’s just the kind of friends Lindsey & Josh are 🙂

Icon Event Group kept the dance floor full! My final song of the evening was Bohemian Rhapsody. This is a special song for Lindsey and her sorority sisters. We captured some truly epic moments of the girls dancing together and singing along (quite well, I might add!)

A huge thank you to the team that made this day extra fun!
